We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a well-established heavy manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically skilled engineer looking to work within a challenging, high-volume industrial environment where reliability, safety and continuous improvement are key. You will play a vital role in maintaining a wide range of heavy industrial machinery and production equipment, ensuring maximum plant availability and minimising costly production downtime. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned, preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across the manufacturing site. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on heavy production machinery and plant. Work on equipment including conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical drive systems. Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime. Carry out inspections and identify potential equipment failures before they occur. Strip, overhaul, repair and rebuild mechanical equipment. Assist with the installation, modification and commissioning of new and existing machinery. Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site. Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the CMMS system. Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
