Sheridan Maine is recruiting newly qualified accountants on behalf of a highly regarded and growing accountancy firm in Hertfordshire, which is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join its dynamic team. 
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with practice experience who is eager to develop within a supportive and professional environment. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 

- Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. 

- Assisting with corporate and personal tax returns.

- Managing bookkeeping tasks and VAT returns. 

- Supporting audit assignments (where applicable). 

- Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries. 

- Supporting senior accountants and managers on ad hoc tasks. 

- Using cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage. 

 
Requirements: 

- Part-qualified ACA / ACCA or AAT qualified. 

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice. 

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax. 

- Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience. 

- Strong IT skills, including cloud-based platforms. 

- A proactive, team-focused attitude with a desire to learn and progress.
