Job Title: Cover Supervisor Location: Secondary Schools across North London Contract: Supply Reporting to: Senior Leadership Team / Cover Manager / Head of Department Job Purpose To supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task, engaged in learning activities, and adhere to school behaviour and safeguarding policies. Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during teacher absence, following pre-set lesson plans and instructionsMaintain a positive, orderly and safe learning environment in line with school behaviour policiesEnsure students are engaged with the work set and provide guidance where appropriate (without teaching new content)Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting respect and positive relationshipsTake accurate registers and report attendance, behaviour issues, or concerns to relevant staffSupport students with additional needs by following guidance from SEN staff and inclusion teamsLiaise with teaching staff, Heads of Department and pastoral teams to ensure continuity of learningCollect, return and provide feedback on completed work as directedUphold safeguarding responsibilities and report any concerns in accordance with school proceduresSupport the wider school community when required, including playground duty or exam support (where appropriate)Person Specification Essential:Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)Strong ..... full job details .....
