are partnering with a rapidly growing, private equity (PE) backed real estate business to recruit a
Group Financial Accountant
for their head office team.This role will play a pivotal role in the continued growth of the group, delivering high quality and accurate financial information to senior leadership and building processes to coordinate the regional teams to deliver regular and accurate reporting.This role is targeted at a candidate probably trained within an industry environment, and recently qualified ACCA or CIMA. Our client will consider candidates from a practice environment but focused on interested candidates coming from the top 10/mid tier (non Big 4) but industry trained is currently preferredOur client offers a hybrid working policy and are based in a convenient, central London location.Responsibilities
Monthly Group Consolidation
- Lead preparation of the group’s consolidated monthly results.Prepare monthly group consolidation, including intercompany elimination and FX translationEnsure consistency and completeness of regional submissions into group reporting packReconcile intercompany balances and work with regional teams to resolve mismatchesProduce consolidated schedules for internal review and board reportingImprove close efficiency through templates and automation initiativesIn-Housing Entity Accounting from Third Parties
- Transition accounting responsibilities from external providers into internal control.Coordinate handovers from accountancy firm advisors and other outsourced providers for our clients regional officesEnsure regional teams take ownership of local ledgers and trial balances post-handoverStandardise bookkeeping procedures and integrate with NetSuite structureEnsure audit trail and documentation are embedded during transitionFlag legacy accounting issues and work with regions to remediateTechnical Accounting and Tax Support
- Assist the Group FC and advisors on tax, transfer pricing, and accounting remediation projects.Act as the main point of contact for collecting and submitting tax and accounting dataTrack progress on actions arising from the international tax healthcheckCoordinate with country teams to deliver documentation for the TP projectMaintain technical memos and central file of accounting decisionsSupport implementation of policy changes driven by tax adviceAudit and Statutory Reporting Support
- Support group audit and statutory deliverables by owning key workstreams.Work with regional teams take ownership of preparing annual Audit fileRespond to group auditor queries relating to consolidation and accounting processesPrepare reconciliations and analysis for areas owned (e.g. intercompany, equity)Contribute to statutory accounts preparation across group entitiesEnsure audit-ready documentation is kept up-to-date throughout the yearWork with Head of Group Reporting to resolve technical pointsExit Preparation and FDD Readiness
- Ensure financial records are structured and accessible for potential due diligence.Maintain well-organised backup files and transaction data for key accountsSupport Group FC and advisors in preparing financial DD data roomEnsure clean reconciliations and standard reporting formats for key KPIsAssist in preparing pro forma adjustments and bridge schedulesTrack follow-up queries and ensure timely, well-documented responsesProfile / Skills
A newly qualified ACCA or CIMA, ideally trained within industry with strong, current group centric finance experience. Our client will consider candidates coming straight from practice, but are focusing on candidates with a broader base of technical experience, which is likely to mean a candidate from the Top 10/20 (Non Big 4)Robust technical understanding of reporting and reporting standards such as IFRSPrior experience in working in multinational group environment (ideally)Strong accounting base with understanding of commercial business activitySelf-starter and confidence in communicating with senior stakeholdersExperience with NetSuite would be beneficialLocation and Benefits
