Overview

General Adult Psychiatrist required as a full-time Inpatient Consultant on Willow Ward at the Derwent Unit, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 10 programmed activity (PA) role.Willow Ward is an 18-bed female ward for adults of working age and part of the 54-bed Derwent Unit under the MRFD programme. The successful candidate will be a clinical leader involved in shaping and developing the service and will have opportunities to develop clinically and pursue evidence-based innovative practices.Responsibilities

Provide consultant and Approved Clinician responsibility for all patients on Willow Ward.Oversee treatment for patients under care, including prompt and comprehensive assessments on admissions, diagnosis and treatment planning, regular patient reviews, and appropriate use of the Mental Health Act for detained patients.Prepare tribunal reports and attend tribunals as required.Lead, delegate, organize, and supervise junior medical staff within the team.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and maintain good working relationships.Benefits and Location

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.Fully registered with the GMC with license.Approved Clinician status.Skills

Excellent knowledge of the specialty and strong English communication skills (oral and written).Ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA; ability to lead a team.Experience in research and service provision.Additional Information
