SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT

Location: Ashford, Kent
Start Date: ASAP
Setting: SEN School
Contract: Full-time

We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Ashford, starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be supporting pupils across KS1 and/or KS2, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and independence, and thrive within the school environment.

• Previous SEN experience, ideally within a school setting

• Relevant experience and/or qualifications in education, childcare or SEN

• Strong behaviour management skills

• Excellent communication skills

• A calm, patient and nurturing approach

• Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

• Flexibility to work across KS1 and/or KS2

• A positive and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with different needs

• Driving is preferred, although candidates who can reliably travel to the school by public transport will be considered

• An enhanced DBS is required

• Candidates with a suitable DBS already in place are welcome to apply

• If you do not currently have a DBS, you must be willing to apply for a new enhanced DBS

• References and safeguarding checks will be completed as part of the recruitment process
