TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive Primary School in Neath, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis for the new academic year. The school prides itself on creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child is supported to achieve their full potential both academically and emotionally.

The school is looking to take on a proactive Teaching Assistant from September 2026 to support pupils within a specialist classroom provision for children with BESD. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management and engagement within learning activities, while helping to create a safe and positive learning environment.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable

Experience supporting children with BESD, SEMH or additional behavioural needs

Experience working within a UK Primary School setting

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

A calm, patient and resilient approach

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
