Job Title: Transport ManagerSalary: Up to £45k base salary + CompLocation: Skelmersdale Role SummaryThe Transport Manager will be a CPC-qualified transport professional responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of a small fleet based in Skelmersdale. The role will focus on maximising driver and fleet performance, driving logistics efficiencies and identifying continuous improvement opportunities across transport operations.While transport and logistics will remain the core focus of the role, there may be occasions where the post holder is required to support mill production planning during periods of ASH cover.Key Responsibilities: Fleet Operations and Compliance: Manage daily fleet operations, ensuring adherence to Operator Licence requirements, driver hours regulations and company policies.Driver Management and Performance: Supervise, support and develop drivers, monitoring tachograph data and implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance and efficiency.Vehicle and Route Management: Oversee vehicle maintenance, defect reporting and route/load optimization to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.Continuous Improvement and Collaboration: Maintain transport records, track KPIs, promote health and safety and work with cross-functional teams to enhance logistics performance.
