Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Poole
Start Date: September 2025

Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning journey and making a meaningful impact in the classroom?

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Poole. This full-time role involves working as a general TA within a Year 6 class, starting in September 2025.

The school is looking for someone with previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), who can bring empathy, patience, and a proactive attitude to the role.

Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Provide general classroom support to the Year 6 teacher and pupils.
  • Assist in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support pupils with SEN to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
  • Foster a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with school staff and SEN professionals to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Participate in school activities, training, and meetings as required.

Requirements for the Teaching Assistant (TA) Role:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
