Buyer

Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum

Location: Walsall (site based – reasonable commute required)

Hours: Mon–Thu: 8:00am – 5:15pm - Fri: 8:00am – 12:00pm

We are looking for an experienced Buyer to manage supplier relationships and inventory in a cost effective and timely way, supporting production needs in a fast paced environment.

You’ll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the best outcomes across cost, quality, and delivery, supporting overall procurement targets.

Key Responsibilities of this Buyer role:

• Manage a portfolio of suppliers and day to day purchasing activity
• Place orders in line with demand, MOQ, MOV, and lead times
• Maintain accurate system data and safety stock levels
• Monitor supplier performance against delivery targets
• Negotiate prices and challenge cost increases
• Work to reduce stock holding and obsolescence
• Support resolution of quality and delivery issues
• Escalate risks and issues when required
• Build strong working relationships across the business

Experience Required for this Buyer role:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Buyer
• Manufacturing or engineering background essential
• Strong Excel skills (essential)
• ERP experience preferred (training provided)
• Stable work history and a well structured CV
