Contract Assembly Technician – 2-Month Contract (with potential extension)
Location: Bedford
Pay: £15.00 – £19.00 per hour (Umbrella Company rate)
Hours: 37.5–40 per week
Mon–Thurs 08:15–17:00 Fri 08:15–12:45
(Breaks: 30 mins lunch 2x15 mins)

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician for a 2-month contract in Bedford, with the opportunity for the contract to be extended. You’ll be involved in a variety of electro-mechanical wiring and assembly tasks, working to industry standards with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities for the assembly technician:

• Build, terminate, and install harnesses including connectors
• Carry out soldering, crimping, and connector assembly to IPC/WHMA-A-620 (or similar) standards
• Interpret wiring diagrams, drawings, and schematics
• Undertake wiring looms, termination, installation, and functional testing
• Maintain high levels of workmanship, cleanliness, and documentation compliance
• Collaborate with engineers and QA to meet regulatory and design requirements

The appointed assembly technician will meet the following key requirements for the position

• Skilled in crimping, soldering, and connector assembly
• Confident with connectors and bench work
• Able to read and work independently from technical drawings/schematics
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and quality-focused
• Experience in regulated environments (aviation/defence ideal)
• Team player with good communication skills
