Mechanical Fitter

My client are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and refurbishing a variety of processing machinery, both new and used, as specified by mechanical designs, engineering drawings, and best manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble new machinery and equipment according to engineering drawings, instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

• Disassemble, clean, refurbish, and reassemble hire and used equipment as required.

• Manufacture and modify components when necessary, including “make-on-assembly” fabrication.

• Operate appropriate hand and power tools in the safe and efficient execution of assembly tasks.

• Perform basic welding, polishing, and finishing work where qualified and competent.

• Follow written and verbal manufacturing instructions and complete required documentation.

Skills & Experience

• Apprenticeship-trained or formally educated in mechanical engineering (preferred).

• Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience assembling mechanical machinery and equipment.

• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
