The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering tailored support to pupils with varying SEN in both one-to-one and small group settings

  • Assisting with personal care and mobility needs, including the use of hoists, under the supervision of trained staff

  • Developing positive, trusting relationships with students to enhance their emotional well-being and academic engagement

  • Responding flexibly and empathetically to changes in behaviour or routine

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging learning experiences that promote student progress and independence

To be considered for the role of a SEN HLTA you will:

  • Be flexible.
  • Experience in Teaching Assistant roles (Preferable).
  • Ideally have your own transport or close public transport links
  • Experience with both small group and 1:1 is beneficial
  • Friendly and nurturing qualities.
  • Competent behaviour management skills.
  • Familiarity with a range of needs (e.g., ASD - Autistic Spectrum Disorder, SLD - Severe Learning Difficulty and PMLD - Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulty).
  • Preferablymoving and handling training or have recent experience in this.
  • Have a patient and caring nature.
  • Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Willing to complete CPD training.

Salary

£445-£470 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
