Overview
Are you a hands-on leader with a strong mechanical engineering background?We’re looking for an experienced
Manufacturing and Engineering Manager
to take full ownership of our production operations driving efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement across the factory.This is a pivotal leadership position where you’ll combine technical expertise with strategic direction. You’ll lead day-to-day manufacturing and engineering activities, ensuring people, machinery, and systems all work together to deliver on production plans and performance targets. You’ll also take responsibility for the maintenance and reliability of machinery and facilities, while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.Key Responsibilities
Lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring output meets plan and is accurately recorded in ERP systemsMonitor KPIs, address downtime, and report on performanceMotivate, mentor, and develop technicians and operatorsTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults quickly to minimise disruptionOversee maintenance, facilities management, and tool room operationsDrive engineering projects, innovation, and continuous improvement initiativesManage supplier relationships, service contracts, and capital investment planningSupport product development and re-engineering projectsAbout You
We’re looking for a proactive engineering leader who can combine hands-on problem-solving with big-picture thinking.Essential skills and experience:Strong mechanical engineering background with practical troubleshooting skillsExperience operating and maintaining factory machinery, including CNC equipmentKnowledge of facilities management and building maintenanceProven leadership ability – motivating and developing teamsExcellent organisation, planning, and communication skillsDesirable
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodsCAD/CAM knowledgeProfessional membership (e.g. IMechE or equivalent)Qualifications
HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent)What’s on Offer
