A welcoming specialist SEN school in Bolton is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced support staff, alongside candidates looking to develop careers in SEN Education, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Social Work, or related fields.

The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a broad range of additional needs, potentially including Autism, ADHD, MLD, SLD, speech and communication difficulties, and SEMH needs.

Working alongside teachers and specialist professionals, you will use pupils'' EHCPs to understand their individual needs, identify barriers to learning, and implement strategies designed to promote progress. You will also play an important role in helping pupils develop communication, confidence, emotional regulation, and greater independence.

Building positive relationships is at the heart of successful SEN support, and you will provide pupils with the consistency, patience, and encouragement they need to thrive.

  • Previous SEN or school-based experience highly advantageous

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Genuine passion for improving outcomes for children with additional needs
