Senior Java Developer - 12 Month Contract - £750pd Rate: £750 per day Umbrella IR35: Inside Location: Hybrid - 60% office attendance (Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham) Clearance: BPSS - must be eligible for SC The Role: A major Central Government programme is seeking experienced Senior Java Developers to join a digital delivery team. You will provide hands-on technical leadership across Java development, while mentoring other developers and helping to drive engineering standards and best practice across the team. Experience and Requirements: Strong commercial experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot. Extensive experience with AWS and cloud-based application development. Strong hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures. Experience working with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases. Proven ability to lead technically and mentor junior/mid-level developers, providing guidance and conducting code reviews. Experience setting and promoting engineering standards, best practices and quality across development teams. Ability to work closely with architects, product owners and wider multidisciplinary teams to shape robust technical solutions. Strong experience delivering scalable and maintainable solutions within complex Agile environments. Government or large-scale digital service experience is desirable. 6 positions available.
