Management Accountant

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to take part in the transformation of Green Britain Groups / Ecotricity''s finance function. The groups finance function has recently gone through a separation process, creating a separate FGR and New Ventures finance team. We are seeking a Management Accountant to be responsible for several retained entities and to continue our finance transformation improvements. You will be critical in ensuring a fast close, improved management reporting, cash management and business partnering. This is a diverse role that will give you significant experience of implementing and managing controls as well as commercial experience.
Core Responsibilities
All finance matters regarding your assigned entitiesOverseeing the preparation of management accounts for reporting to stakeholders. Managing control processes to ensure accounts are completed including full balance sheet reconciliationsBusiness partnering the Directors and the CEOs/MDs of your assigned entities in the strategic development of those businesses through to maturityAssisting in managing the audit process for your entities to ensure it is completed ahead of statutory deadlinesAssisting in the preparation of tax information for your entitiesSupporting the Operations Director and business stakeholders in optimising business performance through measurement against agreed annual and strategic objectives for FGR, GBG and EGL companies and the provision of real-time, accurate, relevant, tailored and clear management informationPreparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts for your entitiesPreparation of monthly PandL variance analysis and commentary for insertion into the management packOwnership and control over the integrity of your balance sheetsHelp drive the transformation of our use of the finance system(s) for improving our reporting and identify opportunities to future proof our processes and controlsAssist with separation and system implementation projectsReview, develop and support the documentation of business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls for specific processes identified with weaknessesBuild and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholdersTake on work and support the teams as required, prioritising tasks around deadlinesSupport the streamlining of cash flow forecasting and reporting, integrating it with the budgeting process and monthly performance reports. Provide commercial insight into the drivers of cash flow and identify risk and opportunities around them

Ensure all issued reporting is robust, compliant, and consistent and that it supports both current activities and future growth requirementsProactively identify areas of improvement and work with others to implement and see these through to completion
About YouEssential Skills and Expertise
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc) with significant business experienceRelevant management accounting experience in month-end close, reporting, and complex reconciliationsInterest and understanding of how financial systems interact with each otherExcellent IT skills including MS Office suiteBusiness process improvement mindset - to drive improvements in processes
Desirable (but Not Essential) Skills and Expertise
Cash flow forecasting and reportingAdvanced data skills: SQL, VBA, Power BI, Power Query, excel modelling
