This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a specialist SEND setting, providing pupils with the individual support they need to develop their confidence, independence and learning.
You will work closely with non-verbal pupils and children with complex needs, providing support on a 1:1 basis and within small groups. You will help pupils engage with their learning while also supporting their emotional wellbeing and development.
Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant in Milton Keynes
- Provide 1:1 and in-class support to pupils with ASD and other additional needs.
- Work with non-verbal pupils and children with complex needs to support their individual needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible and differentiated learning activities.
- Support pupils in developing their confidence, communication and independence.
- Build positive, trusting and respectful relationships with pupils.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Support pupils'' emotional wellbeing and encourage positive behaviour throughout the school day.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
