Field Service Engineer – Machine Tools / CNC

Locations: Yorkshire OR Manchester / North West

Salary: Up to circa £45,000 basic + overtime

Sauce People are recruiting Field Service Engineers on behalf of an established and highly regarded supplier of machine tools and engineering solutions.

Due to ongoing demand and continued growth, our client is looking to strengthen its UK service team with engineers covering:

• Yorkshire
• Manchester & the North West

These are home-based, field service positions offering an attractive basic salary together with overtime, providing excellent overall earning potential.

The Role

Working from home and covering customers predominantly within your region, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance and support of machinery at customer sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planned and preventative maintenance
• Reactive breakdown maintenance
• Fault finding and diagnostics
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
• Servicing and maintaining machine tools and associated equipment
• Attending customer sites for emergency call-outs where required
• Providing a professional and knowledgeable service to customers
• Working with the wider service and technical teams to resolve issues

The company aims to organise its engineers geographically to minimise unnecessary travel and overnight stays wherever possible.

About You

We are particularly interested in speaking with engineers who have a strong electrical bias combined with mechanical knowledge.

Ideally, you will have experience working with CNC or machine tools, although we would also be interested in hearing from experienced field service or maintenance engineers from other relevant industrial machinery backgrounds.

You should be comfortable fault finding, working independently at customer sites and representing the business professionally.

The company is reviewing its package to ensure it attracts experienced engineers, with a salary of up to circa £45,000 basic, depending on experience. In addition, the package includes:
