This is an opportunity to step into a newly created Head of Compliance role within a well-established financial services business that’s investing heavily in risk and compliance to support its growth.The OpportunityYou’ll have full accountability for the compliance function- both strategic and hands-on. Reporting to the CRO, you’ll design and implement frameworks, oversee regulatory obligations, and build the culture of compliance across the organization. This role also carries the SMF16 designation (and ideally SMF15), giving you genuine board-level influence and visibility.You’ll join at a pivotal time: the business has recently strengthened its senior leadership in risk and compliance and is now looking for an experienced professional to set the agenda, embed strong governance, and develop a small but growing team.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as SMF16Primary contact for the FCA, ICO, and other regulatorsLead on Consumer Duty, SMandCR, and wider FCA obligationsDevelop and deliver the Compliance Assurance Plan and training initiativesProvide advisory support to the business and influence at Board levelHorizon scanning and ensuring preparedness for regulatory changeShape compliance frameworks, policies, and culture from the ground upAbout You5+ years’ compliance experience within financial services (insurance background welcome but not essential)In-depth knowledge of FCA regulation (SYSC, ICOBS, PROD, SMandCR, Consumer Duty)Proven experience engaging and influencing Board/ExCo stakeholdersExperience holding or ready to hold an SMF16 functionStrong knowledge of UK data protection law, with experience as a DPO (or similar)Hands-on, resilient, and commercially minded – comfortable in an SME-style environment where you can make a tangible impactWhat’s on OfferSalary £75,000 + package34 days holiday (incl.
