Information Manager (Data Engineer)

NHS Blood and Transplant is an integral part of the NHS. Operating a network of blood centres across England and North Wales, we collect 2.5 million units of blood annually from 2 million volunteer donors. These donations are converted into safe and effective blood components, blood products, and tissues for transfusion to patients.You will be joining an organization with ambitious plans to provide cutting-edge digital services and improve our technology services. Join us, and it will be your responsibility to make accessible management information available to all our directorates by developing systems, managing the production and delivery of ad-hoc performance data, and acting as the ICT directorate''s expert resource.As a team player who can also work independently, you will have excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach. In this role, you will create, develop, implement, and maintain NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) Business Intelligence systems and data marts/data warehouses, providing access to information throughout NHSBT. Your responsibilities will include:Performing Business Intelligence research and development, ensuring the best fit to the IT needs of NHSBT.Developing and maintaining bespoke decision support, reporting, and performance measurement solutions to assist NHSBT in achieving specific tasks for the benefit of the organization.Evaluating existing Business Intelligence systems or solutions from external suppliers, providing expertise and advice in procurement to ensure the best fit for NHSBT''s information requirements.Assisting the Head of Business Intelligence in formulating the Business Intelligence strategy for NHSBT.Providing training in Business Intelligence and Reporting to NHSBT staff as necessary.Travel and time away from base will be required, including working irregular hours and overnight stays with prior notice.At NHS Blood and Transplant, we believe it takes all types of people to deliver a service that saves and improves lives.
