Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer (General Civils and Residential) – Bristol. Be part of an expanding Infrastructure Engineering team in Bristol, delivering sustainable and successful development for a wide range of clients across the UK.Responsibilities
Deliver a high-quality civil/ infrastructure design service with the ability to think innovatively and pragmatically.Lead projects and teams while remaining hands-on with technical design and production of drawings and documentation.Apply Civil Engineering best practices and standards to a range of projects.Use initiative and professional judgment to support client projects and goals.Manage non-technical project aspects including contract management, financials, programme and resourcing; engage in client and external-facing activities.Qualifications and Experience
BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or a related degree; 6+ years relevant postgraduate experience; ideally Chartered or Incorporated (e.g., ICE).Demonstrated ability to lead in residential or general infrastructure development schemes, including highways, drainage, levels and plot engineering; experience leading major projects with junior team members.Design using relevant guidance such as Manual for Streets, Design and Construction Guidance, CIRIA SuDS Manual, Sewerage Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, and Local Authority standards.Ability to prepare drawings and calculations for private and adoptable arrangements; experience obtaining watercourse consents and technical approvals (S104/S38).Numerate and software literate with AutoCAD; experience with Civils3D or similar; drainage modelling software (e.g., Causeway or similar).Experience managing non-technical aspects of projects (contract management, financials, programme, resourcing) and client-facing interactions.Private/consultancy sector background with a pragmatic approach to residential development from concept to construction.Strong organisational and communication skills with a collaborative approach; full driving licence and access to a car.What we offer
