Shift Engineer

Maintenance Engineer – FMCG – 4 on / 4 off
You know those job ads that promise “career progression” without actually telling you what that looks like?
This isn’t one of them.
If you’re good at what you do, the team here will notice. That’s partly because they’re big on developing their own people, but mainly because you’ll be sat in the middle of one of the area’s largest FMCG manufacturing sites, keeping the whole thing moving. If you’re useless, they’ll notice that too.
The scenery? Let’s just say the drive to work here is better than your last holiday brochure. Shame you’ll mostly be looking at conveyor belts, motors and sensors instead.
What you’ll actually be doing:
Fixing stuff before it breaks and fixing other stuff after it does.
Mechanical and electrical maintenance (fault finding, sensors, motors, conveyors).
Reducing downtime.
Projects and continuous improvement, which is code for “making things run better without being told every five minutes.”
Shifts:
4 on, 4 off. Two days, two nights. 12 hours each. Overtime if you fancy it.
What you need to bring:
You’ve worked as a Maintenance Engineer before. Food/FMCG background is nice, but not essential.
NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Engineering.
Health & Safety knowledge that extends beyond “don’t stick your fingers in moving parts.”
The perks:
22 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays). Pension. Life cover. Cycle-to-work scheme if you enjoy Lycra.
If you’re still reading, you’re probably either interested or very bored. Either way, give me a call. We’ll keep it confidential.
