Assistant Head of Residential Conveyancing

Banbury | Full-Time | 5+ Years'' PQE | Up to £65,000

Are you an experienced Residential Property Solicitor or Conveyancer ready to step into a leadership role without losing the fee-earning side of the job?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established residential property team in Banbury, supporting the Head of Department with the day-to-day running, development and performance of the team, while continuing to manage your own caseload.

This would suit a senior conveyancer who enjoys mentoring others, getting involved in business development and taking more responsibility within a department.

You''ll have a varied role combining team management, technical support and fee earning, including:

• Supporting the Head of Department with day-to-day team management.
• Supporting junior colleagues with complex matters and technical queries.
• Conducting performance and file reviews.
• Helping with training, development plans and mentoring.
• Managing your own busy residential caseload.
• Handling sales, purchases, transfers of equity, shared ownership and leasehold matters.
• Supporting departmental business development and networking activities.
• Working towards agreed targets and KPIs.
• Assisting with complaints and risk management where required.
• Ensuring compliance with AML, CQS and Lexcel requirements.
• Representing the department at meetings when required.
• Leading the team in the absence of the Head of Department.

We''re looking for a senior residential conveyancer with:

• 5+ years'' PQE or equivalent experience as a Solicitor, CILEX or CLC.
• Strong experience across a broad residential conveyancing caseload.
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior team members.
• Strong technical knowledge of residential conveyancing and CQS requirements.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of KPIs.
• Confidence contributing to business development and networking.
• Strong organisation and the ability to work independently.
• Good knowledge of AML, SRA requirements and data protection.
• Experience with case management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
