The student has a complex profile of Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, including a diagnosed Language Disorder with moderate to severe receptive and expressive language difficulties. He has previously found mainstream education challenging and can experience anxiety, frustration and emotional distress when faced with academic demands, uncertainty or situations where he feels misunderstood. He responds well to trusted adults and prefers 1:1 support. His interests include football, art, photography, computers, music, outdoor activities and motorbikes. The role The successful tutor will provide personalised 1:1 tuition in English and Maths, while helping the student rebuild confidence, engagement and positive experiences of learning. The EHCP specifies that teaching should be highly differentiated and personalised, delivered at a level appropriate to his cognitive, language and literacy profile.
