Corkey House is looking for caring and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team. We offer training and support to help you succeed.Salary: £12.40 per hour (no NVQ), £12.46 per hour with NVQ/QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care, £12.50 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care. Hours: 2 Posts: 24 hours and 18 hours per week. Responsible to: Service Manager.No NVQ is required initially; training and support will be provided. The Home accommodates 35 residents with a variety of physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs and varying levels of dependency. The Home operates a No Smoking Policy.About The Role: What you will be doing is described below under Responsibilities and Qualifications.Responsibilities
Providing compassionate care to residents, ensuring dignity and respect at all timesAssisting residents with dressing, personal hygiene, mobility, and daily activitiesEncouraging independence while offering support where neededAdministering medication (after appropriate training)Supporting residents with social and recreational activitiesHelping residents exercise their rights and make choices about their daily livesAccompanying residents on trips, appointments, and outingsMaintaining accurate records (both written and computerised)Following safety procedures and NISCC Code of Practice standardsAttending training and staff meetings to develop your skillsBeing a team player, working alongside staff to provide the best possible careWhat We Are Looking For

Willing to undertake relevant training e.g. induction training, or NVQ / QCF level 2Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English to the level required by the duties of the postBasic numeracy required by the duties of the postWilling to work additional hours to fulfil the requirements of the HomeWilling to maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care CouncilAwareness of health and safety practices within a working environmentEvidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older peopleDesirable Criteria
