Functional Skills Tutor - Runcorn Location: Runcorn Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: October 2026 Duration: Ongoing Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an adaptable Functional Skills Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition in Runcorn. The successful candidate will support learners who may have experienced barriers to education, helping them develop their core skills and work towards achievable academic goals. Key Responsibilities Deliver personalised Functional Skills tuition Support development in Maths and/or English Identify gaps in core knowledge Adapt sessions to suit individual learning needs Build confidence and motivation Use accessible and engaging teaching methods Track learner development and provide feedback Requirements Experience delivering Functional Skills, GCSE or equivalent tuition Strong knowledge of Maths and/or English Previous experience working with young people Ability to engage learners who may be reluctant to learn Patient, reliable and adaptable approach Experience supporting SEND learners is desirable Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Right to Work in the UK Two professional child-related references Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business and education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy. ..... full job details .....
