Primary School Caretaker

Contract: Part Time (Potential for Permanent)

We are recruiting for a reliable, proactive Praimry School Caretaker to ensure a school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained. This varied role is suited to an experienced caretaker, facilities worker or skilled handyperson.

About the Role

This role involves working on a split shift pattern (morning and afternoon/evening cover) to support the safe opening and closing of the school site. You will manage day-to-day site operations including maintenance, health & safety checks, security, cleaning supervision and minor repairs, acting as key holder and supporting contractors and lettings.

Key Responsibilities

• General site maintenance, repairs and decorating
• Key holding, opening/closing site and responding to alarms
• Health & safety checks and record keeping
• Overseeing cleaning staff and schedules
• Supporting utilities, grounds and external areas
• Managing contractors, deliveries and lettings
• Supporting maintenance planning and site budgets

Requirements

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance or site management
• Good organisation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Basic literacy and numeracy
• Full UK driving licence
• Physically able to carry out manual tasks
• Commitment to safeguarding and health & safety

Additional Information

• Split shift working pattern required (morning and afternoon/evening cover)
• Enhanced DBS required
• Occasional out-of-hours callouts
• Must be eligible to work in the UK
