I''m currently working with an established and highly regarded planning and environmental consultancy who are looking to appoint a Town Planning Consultant to join their team in Skipton on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a planner who wants to develop their career within a close-knit consultancy, working across a diverse range of projects within the minerals, waste, renewable energy, environmental and wider development sectors.

Joining an experienced and growing team, you''ll be involved across the full planning process, providing professional advice to clients and helping to deliver projects from initial concept through to planning permission and beyond.

Your responsibilities will include:
·Preparing and managing planning applications and supporting documentation
·Undertaking planning appraisals, site searches and development assessments
·Providing planning policy advice and identifying development opportunities
·Supporting the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments and associated reports
·Managing planning conditions and discharge of conditions
·Liaising with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, clients and other stakeholders
·Supporting public and stakeholder engagement exercises
·Assisting with planning appeals and representations where required
·Managing your own workload and contributing to the successful delivery of client projects

About You
We''re keen to hear from Town Planners with experience gained either within planning consultancy or local government.
You''ll ideally have:
·A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
·Previous experience within a planning role - minerals and waste specific
·Good working knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant legislation
·The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
·A proactive, commercially aware and client-focused approach
 
Experience within minerals, waste, renewable energy, environmental or rural planning would be advantageous.
RTPI membership or a willingness to work towards MRTPI status would also be beneficial.
