Role Title: Assistant Finance Manager Type: Interim 3 to 6-month contract Day Rate: Up to 250 per day inside IR35 Hybrid: 2 days per week in the office Location: Berkshire Sellick Partnership are working with a Local Government organisation who are seeking an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to join their finance team on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional with strong schools finance experience to support financial planning, budget management, reporting and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will support the wider finance function, including providing guidance to finance colleagues, working closely with budget holders and supporting the effective financial management of maintained schools. The role will also involve regular travel to school sites across Berkshire. The responsibilities of the Assistant Finance Manager will be:Supporting budget setting, financial planning, monitoring and forecasting across the service.Providing financial advice and guidance to budget holders and senior stakeholders.Supporting and overseeing members of the finance team, including accountants.Producing clear financial reports and presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and non-finance audiences.Supporting year-end accounts, financial controls and statutory reporting requirements.Using Power BI and financial systems to analyse performance, identify trends and provide meaningful financial insight.
