Priory East Midlands is looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team in a 28-bedded specialist acute and psychiatric intensive care service for female patients. We value our colleagues work life balance and as such can offer hybrid/remote working 1 day per week, we are happy to discuss this with you, all other days based on site. This is a full time 37.5 hours role. Priory Hospital East Midlands, located between Nottingham and Mansfield, is a 28-bedded specialist acute and psychiatric intensive care service for female patients. We offer individualised care packages for patients. We specialise in managing behaviours that lead to distress, which is supported by a strong team of psychologists and occupational therapists. Our multidisciplinary team specialises in positive behavioural support planning, to help patients in managing and developing new strategies to improve their distress and trauma.

Consultant Psychiatrist
you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
Lead clinical care for patients, including psychiatric assessments, treatment planning, ward rounds, and Responsible Clinician duties under the Mental Health Act.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred, recovery-focused care in a therapeutic environment.
Build and maintain effective relationships with referring Trusts, community teams, families, and external stakeholders.
Contribute to service development through clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Participate in the on-call rota and commit to continuous professional development, including meeting GMC Revalidation requirements.
What you''ll bring to the roleOur work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows. The successful candidate will be fully registered with the GMC and expected to provide evidence of their registration when required. You should have significant experience working within multidisciplinary teams and demonstrate strong leadership in coordinating care, discharge planning, and liaising with commissioners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building trust with patients and colleagues. You must be confident working autonomously, have strong problem-solving abilities, and be able to apply evidence-based practice in a practical, patient-centred manner. Participation in a non-residential, second on-call rota is also required.
