Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer

The Opportunity: Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to elevate your career with a thriving, multi-disciplinary practice At Skilled Careers, we are currently partnering with a highly respected building services consultancy in Central London. They are actively seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to drive the electrical design on a diverse portfolio of high-end commercial office spaces and complex mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of full electrical design packages, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and security systems from concept to completion.

• Produce detailed calculations and schematics utilizing industry-standard software to ensure compliance with BS7671 and current UK building regulations.

• Coordinate closely with mechanical engineers, architects, and external contractors to deliver clash-free, integrated MEP solutions.

• Guide and mentor junior to intermediate electrical engineers, reviewing their calculations and drawings.

• Attend design team meetings, client pitches, and conduct site inspections to monitor installation quality.

What You Need to Succeed:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.

• A minimum of 5 years of UK consultancy experience, with a strong background in commercial and mixed-use projects.

• High proficiency in software such as Amtech, Dialux, Relux, and a strong working knowledge of Revit MEP.

• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with the IET or CIBSE, or currently working towards it.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently present technical solutions to clients.
