An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Home Manager to join the leadership team of a highly respected, family-run elderly care provider.
This role is ideal for an experienced Home Manager with a strong background in elderly care and a proven track record of leading a Nursing, Dementia or Residential care home.
The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of a well-established, medium-sized service, while leading the home through the next stage of its quality improvement journey.
Key Responsibilities of the Home Manager
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the care home.
- Lead, motivate and develop the management and care teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
- Drive improvements in quality, safeguarding, governance and regulatory compliance.
- Lead the home through its ongoing CQC improvement journey.
- Promote an open, supportive and values-led management culture.
- Drive occupancy growth while maintaining the home''s strong private-funded resident profile.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of care across the service.
- Support the recruitment, induction, supervision and ongoing development of staff.
- Develop and mentor the existing management team, promoting accountability and engagement.
- Manage budgets, resources and financial performance effectively.
- Work closely with senior management to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure the home remains compliant with relevant legislation, policies and best practice.
- Maintain a positive, professional and accountable culture across the service.
- Previous experience working as a Home Manager within an elderly care setting.
- Proven experience managing and leading a Nursing, Dementia or Residential care home.
- Demonstrable experience improving quality standards and delivering positive CQC outcomes.
- Strong understanding of CQC requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Commercial awareness, including occupancy management and budget responsibility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A confident, visible and approachable management style.
- Ability to motivate, develop and inspire staff.
- Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management or equivalent.
- A nursing qualification is not essential for this position.
- Up to -6,000 performance-related KPI bonus.
