Graduate Mechanical Engineer

OverviewOnsite 5 days a week - Chiswick, London.
Design the Future of Sustainable Storage
At HoloMem, we’re building the next generation of long-term data storage — radically efficient, ultra-durable, and environmentally sustainable. Our pioneering holographic storage technology encodes data as light within advanced materials, creating a resilient alternative to today’s short-lived, energy-intensive cloud infrastructure.
Having partaken in both the Intel Ignite and Deeptech Labs accelerators in 2024, awarded two Innovate UK Smart Grants, we’ve recently closed our Seed+ raise and are accelerating development. HoloMem is now looking to expedite the development of its pioneering technology by growing its team of problem solvers to support our exciting next chapter.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. Can share a strong portfolio of previous work / projects
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering or a related field
Proficient in 3D CAD (OnShape, Solidworks) to design components, produce drawings, and build assemblies
Hands-on, self-taught, and love to work on hardware
Excited to prototype your own designs in our well-equipped workshop
Can communicate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
Independent, self-starter with strong communication skills
Basic electronics (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), soldering and wiring skills to assist in integration of mechanical and electronic components
Writing scripts to process data and debug embedded systems using C/C++, Python or MATLAB
Have practical experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDandT) for creation of fabrication drawings
Competing in flagship engineering competitions like Formula Student, University Rover Challenge or Shell Eco-marathon
Participant in the maker community or just a general DIY’er
What You’ll Get
25 days annual leave
Matched pension contributions
A collaborative, knowledgeable team working on deeply technical, world-positive problems
