Sewell Wallis are working on a confidential and exclusive Head of Finance position with a large, multi-entity organisation based near Slough, Berkshire.

This is an exciting transformation-focused role, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to make a genuine impact across the Finance function. The remit will include improving output, modernising processes and controls, strengthening the team culture, and ultimately helping to make Finance a more value-adding function for the wider business.

You''ll work closely with a Finance Director who specialises in transformation, acting as their right-hand person and taking a lead role in reshaping the department''s processes, operations and ways of working.
The role would suit someone with a strong technical accounting background, confident across statutory accounting, IFRS, accounting standards and consolidations, combined with strong people leadership skills and a genuine appetite for transformation and change. You''ll need to have experience working within a large multi-entity business (ideally -250500mil T/O) with experience of lease and asset accounting.

There is also significant scope for progression, with the Finance Director looking for someone who could potentially step into their position and become their successor in the years ahead.

What will you be doing?

• Drive financial performance - Deliver sales, profitability, cash flow and strategic targets in line with the Profit Plan and Mid-Term Plan.
• Lead and develop teams - Build high-performing, accountable finance teams through effective leadership, coaching and continuous development.
• Own financial reporting - Ensure accurate and timely management accounts, statutory accounts, tax, audits and financial submissions.
• Maintain strong controls - Ensure effective governance, internal controls, systems and compliance with accounting, tax and Group standards.
• Lead planning and forecasting - Own budgets, forecasts and Profit Planning, providing clear financial insight to support business decisions.
• Drive performance improvement - Develop KPIs, identify risks and opportunities, and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality and growth.
• Build strong partnerships - Work collaboratively across the business, support strategic initiatives and promote a customer-focused, high-performance culture.

What skills are we looking for?

• Qualified candidate (likely ACA/ACCA)
• Strong technical knowledge around IFRS16, IFRS15, IAS2, IAS36, IAS37 and FRS102
• Experience working within a big business (-250mil500mil T/O)
• Strong people manager with experience leading a team of 10+
• Enjoys working through transformation, can take on reviewing processes and operations.
• Strong communicator
• Experience working at Group Financial Controller, Head of Finance or Group Finance Manager level.
