This senior leadership role leads the 24/7 CONNECT Support Team, a vital service supporting the Met Police Service’s core operational platform. In this role you will lead a team of 36 specialists, drive performance, ensure service resilience and shape the future of digital policing support.
Salary and LocationSalary:
The starting salary is £59,839, which includes allowances totalling £2,928. The salary is broken down as £56,911 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £69,342. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location / Hybrid Working:
The primary Met Location for this role is Sydenham. Travel across the Met Estate, to attend meetings as required by the business, is expected. Blended working with an expectation of 3 days minimum in the office per week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We actively support hybrid working solutions.
Security Clearance:

The RoleWe are looking for an experienced and strategic leader to join the CONNECT Support Team (CST). A vital 24/7 service supporting the Met Police Service’s core operational platform. In this senior role, you will lead a team of 36 specialists, drive performance, ensure service resilience and shape the future of digital policing support.
Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day leadership and long-term direction of the 24/7 CONNECT Support Team, including setting strategic goals, managing resources, and ensuring high-quality support for users across the Met.
Oversee user support operations, system security, risk management and performance monitoring to keep the platform resilient and effective.
Lead change initiatives, coordinate responses to technical incidents, manage stakeholder relationships across the organisation and beyond.
Represent the MPS at national forums.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Essential skills / Qualifications
Proven leadership in complex IT environments
Strong strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and decision-making skills
Expertise in risk management, audit, security and system performance
Skilled in managing SLAs, KPIs and service improvement projects
Ability to analyse data and present findings to senior audiences
Confident communicator, negotiator and problem solver
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
Degree or equivalent significant experience
Experience in public sector or law enforcement IT environments
