Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Heavy Plant Fitter to join our dynamic team. This role involves the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of heavy plant machinery both in our workshops and on customer sites. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical excellence, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining the high standards our client-is known for.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of heavy plant machinery including excavators, telehandlers, rollers, dumpers, crushers, screeners, and other earthmoving equipment.

Perform both scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to minimize downtime.

Carry out inspections in line with LOLER/PUWER and manufacturers'' guidelines.

Provide detailed reports on completed work, including job cards and service records.

Attend breakdowns on customer sites as required, ensuring prompt and professional service delivery.

Maintain accurate stock levels of spare parts and report shortages to management.

Operate within health and safety regulations and company procedures at all times.

Liaise with customers on-site in a professional and courteous manner.

Support training and mentoring of junior team members where applicable.
Key Skills & Experience:

Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter within construction or related industries.

Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Experience with a broad range of plant equipment brands (e.g., JCB, CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, Doosan).

Competency with welding and fabrication (desirable but not essential).

Valid driving licence (essential); HGV licence advantageous but not essential.

CSCS, CPCS, or equivalent qualifications are advantageous.
