Overview
We are looking to recruit an experienced, motivated individual to join our unique and highly specialised team. This post is primarily aimed at those already undertaking vascular access procedures and is open to applications from both Nurses and Radiographers. The service will undertake the majority of line insertion procedures (PICC, THL, Hickman Lines) and you will rotate through Interventional Radiology, primarily working in the new Vascular Access service.The Royal London Hospital is part of Barts Health NHS Trust, located in East London. The aim of this role is to support the Interventional Radiology department by having Vascular Access Practitioners undertake some cases, rather than an Interventional Radiology Consultant or SPR. The role requires extensive training, high concentration, and finely developed motor skills.About us

Undertake leading roles in vascular access procedures (PICC, THL, Hickman lines) as part of the new Vascular Access service.Provide training and share expertise within Interventional Radiology and the department.Work autonomously within the scope of knowledge and experience; plan and prioritise own and department workload.Contribute to quality improvement and compliance with relevant standards.Qualifications and requirements
EssentialBSc in a healthcare-based subjectCurrent professional registration (NMC or HCPC)Extensive clinical experience in Interventional RadiologyPostgraduate experience with specialist training and knowledgeDesirableExperience in advanced practice procedures and IV injections/cannulation (or willingness to train)Knowledge of QoC and QA procedures; familiarity with clinical governanceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Detailed knowledge of organ systems and interventional procedures; evidence of CPDAble to perform advanced practice procedures including PICC, THL, and Hickman linesAbility to train others and present information in department and national settingsStrong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work under pressureDisclosures and sponsorship
