Location: Taunton Pay: £100 - £115 Type: Open Ended Contract (possible permanent) Hours: Full time, 8.30am - 3.30pm Mon-Fri Start date: ASAP Elementa are recruiting for a an SEMH/SCLN Learning Support Assistant for this Special Provision in Taunton, that caters for children age 11-16. The children who attend the academy will have an EHCP to support their SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) and SCL (Speech Communication Language) needs. Your role will be to support the teaching staff, in providing a high quality provision for all young people. This can be a difficult place to work, with some children having challenging behaviour, that would need a level of experience to be able deal with the day-to-day challenges this role may bring. Previous experience of working in a specialist provision, or similar would be essential. Due to the levels of support required by the school, a DBS on the update service would be needed, as we can not account for the delays in processing a new DBS, as this could impact on start dates, and therefore impacting the staffing levels required. You will be a role model for the young children, providing effecting educational support for staff and children within the provision.
