Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer looking to join a business that genuinely invests in its people, training, and long-term career development?
We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing facility in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and forward-thinking engineering team.
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and supporting the operational needs of the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Responding to breakdowns and conducting effective fault finding.
- Diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical faults.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability and efficiency.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records through a CMMS system.
- Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
- Assisting with small projects, equipment upgrades, and site improvements.
About You
We are interested in speaking with engineers from manufacturing, FMCG, food, packaging, logistics, recycling, automotive, or other fast-paced production environments.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- A recognised Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or Apprenticeship).
- At least 3 years'' experience within a manufacturing or process environment.
- Either a mechanical or electrical bias with a basic understanding of the opposite discipline.
- Experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Desirable Experience
- FMCG or high-volume manufacturing experience.
- Steam systems, water treatment or utilities knowledge.
- Electrical testing and inspection qualifications.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- Continuous improvement or project involvement.
