Principal Technical Safety Engineer Hydrogen / Oil and Gas ProjectsLocation: Manchester or Aberdeen (Hybrid minimum 3 days onsite)Contract Type: Full-time, 40 hours per weekWe are currently supporting an exciting opportunity for a Principal Technical Safety Engineer to take a lead role in the delivery of technical safety workstreams for Hydrogen and Oil and Gas FEED projects in the UK.Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage technical safety deliverables across FEED and Detailed Design phases. Allocate project tasks to junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Produce, check, and approve design safety documentation. Participate in HAZOPs, hazard studies, and multidisciplinary design reviews. Liaise with other engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated project delivery. Report progress and issues to the Project Engineering Manager. Ensure compliance with UK regulations and industry best practice. (Desirable) Use of PHAST software for consequence modelling. Requirements: Proven experience delivering FEED and Detail Design projects in high-hazard industries such as Oil and Gas, Power, or Nuclear. Strong working knowledge of UK safety regulations and engineering codes of practice. Previous experience in a technical leadership role. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup (3+ days on site).
