Role SummaryThe Investment Associate will join the London team with a focus on sourcing and executing investments in consumer-driven businesses across Africa. The role offers exposure to the full investment lifecycle, from origination and due diligence through to portfolio management and value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Perform financial modelling, valuation work, and due diligence on potential consumer-focused opportunities.

Prepare investment committee materials and support deal execution processes.

Research markets and identify emerging consumer trends and attractive subsectors across Africa.

Build relationships with entrepreneurs, advisors, and industry contacts to generate proprietary deal flow.

Support portfolio companies on strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and growth projects.

Contribute ideas to the broader investment strategy, particularly around consumer markets and themes such as digital adoption, urbanisation, and rising middle-class demand.

Background

2–4 years’ experience in private equity, investment banking, or strategy consulting, ideally with exposure to consumer or growth markets.

Strong technical skills: financial modelling, valuation, and transaction execution.

Demonstrated interest in African markets or experience working with emerging markets.

Commercially minded, highly analytical, and comfortable working in entrepreneurial environments.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse cultures and stakeholders.
