Job OverviewWe are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and production, ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence and food safety. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced environment.

DutiesEmploys food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the sameActs with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high-temperature surfacesSelects choice ingredients that will give dishes the best flavourExperiments to come up with new specialties that will draw diners into the restaurantCoaches the sous chef and other members of the kitchen staff, so they perform at their bestDetermines how much food to order and maintains an appropriate supply at the restaurantKeeps up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure that guests have a positive experienceWorks quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and eveningsOccasionally takes on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is particularly busyTakes direction and works with the restaurant''s administrative team

SkillsProven experience as a cook or in a similar culinary role, with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques.Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.Exceptional culinary skills with a creative flair for menu development.Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering outstanding dining experiences.NVQ Level 3 (preferable).
