Senior Test Engineer (Active SC Clearance Required)
Location: Bristol, UK (100% Onsite)
Contract Duration: ASAP until June 2027
We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer for a long-term contract supporting a major IT Programme. In this fully onsite role based in Bristol, you will take operational ownership of monthly In-Service Release (ISR) cycles, ensuring all new features and updates meet strict functional and security requirements.
What You''ll Do:
- Develop monthly release test plans, defining scope, acceptance criteria, and environment requirements.
- Execute functional and risk-based regression testing to validate business logic, data flows, and system interactions.
- Manage defects using Jira, Zephyr, or TestRail, and run defect-triage meetings.
- Produce robust release test summaries and evidence packs for customer sign-off.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive functional test cases where possible.
What You Need:
- Active UK SC Clearance.
- 5+ years of software testing experience in enterprise or defence IT environments.
- Deep expertise in manual functional testing, regression testing, and defect management.
- Experience with test management platforms like Jira, Zephyr, or Confluence.
- Working knowledge of UK Defence standards and secure government data boundaries.
