We''re looking for a hard-working, creative and motivated engineer to join a specialist, multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team at Bristol developing several innovative and powerful IPs used across multiple lines of business ranging from IoT, Automotive to Infrastructure computing. If you have experience in, or are interested in developing and delivering high-quality, high-performance digital IPs on the latest tech nodes, that will be used in different product segments, this is an outstanding opportunity to get involved!

Responsibilities

Analyse proposed specifications to understand implementation challenges and opportunities, working with the architects to improve and refine the ideas

Plan, track and coordinate tasks for yourself and your team

Work closely with verification, performance, back-end implementation and power analysis teams to ensure your design meets all the functional, area, power and performance requirements

Improve design methodology to meet evolving needs of your design and the team

You will own one or more functional blocks of the IP, possess an in-depth understanding of all the aspects of the products’ successful delivery, have an awareness of the impact of design decisions on system performance and the verification techniques that are employed to ensure high-quality, innovative designs.

Required Skills And Experience

Demonstration of a strong delivery record of sophisticated micro-architecture and RTL design using System Verilog, Verilog or VHDL in reasonable timescales.

Be able to navigate and make high-level design trade-offs and articulate the rationale for those choices.

Knowledgeable on ASIC (or FPGA) design methodology, IP signoff methods with a deep understanding on timing/area/complexity trade-offs for complex data path designs.

Experience with static design checks, synthesis and timing analysis and power management techniques.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience

Knowledge of memory system interconnect protocols (e.g. AMBA ACE-Lite or AXI)

Familiarity with PCI Express (PCIe), AES cryptography, address translation is a plus

Knowledge of SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and formal verification

Experience of a scripting language such as Perl, Tcl, C shell, Python

Knowledge of a number hardware verification languages e.g. SystemVerilog
