Role focus: Occupational therapy within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement an OT treatment programme tailored to service users’ diagnoses and needs, including risk assessment to inform treatment plans.

Organisation and ServiceLong Eaton Day Services is a mixed gender service for individuals aged 16 years and above, specializing in supporting individuals with a primary diagnosis of learning disability, and those with complex health needs, physical disabilities and autism. The service focuses on outcomes and value through activities developed by professionals, parents, carers and the people who spend their days with us. The service is led by three key disciplines: occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy. The multidisciplinary approach enables a clear activity plan to maximize an individual’s potential with input from the on-site clinical team. Hours are designed to be flexible for service users, with opening times from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.

Occupational TherapyAs an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care, including OT assessments, treatment and management of service users. You will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme based on the service user’s diagnosis and needs, with plans informed by assessments and associated risks within the multidisciplinary team.

Development and InductionOccupational Therapy Directorate:

Under the leadership of our OT directors, we support over 150 Occupational Therapists and 300 OT support staff, with opportunities to contribute to service development and specialist interest groups. Each service line has a clinical lead OT to promote evidence-based practice and OT pathways. OT team members have a voice in service model development.

Preceptorship and Induction:

We offer an Occupational Therapy 12-month preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core OT skills.
