Domestic Abuse Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join a specialist accommodation service in Brecon, supporting women, families, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience supporting vulnerable adults and families who is passionate about providing safe, person-centred support and helping individuals rebuild their confidence and independence.
The role will involve:
- Providing emotional and practical support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse
- Supporting families throughout their stay in accommodation
- Helping women, children and young people develop confidence, independence and practical life skills
- Completing ongoing risk assessments and supporting safeguarding arrangements
- Maintaining accurate case notes, support plans and records
- Supporting families with housing-related matters, including Housing Benefit applications
- Promoting positive parenting and healthy family relationships
- Supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse
- Working with statutory, voluntary and community agencies
- Supporting families to prepare for moving on from accommodation into the community
- Helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and supportive accommodation environment
We’re looking for someone with: - Experience supporting vulnerable adults, families or individuals affected by domestic abuse
- A good understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and families
- Strong communication and written skills, including report writing
- Good IT and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and participate in a 24-hour emergency on-call rota is required.
