London Borough of Havering .Grade 8 - £47,532-£51,522 pa (Plus £5k Market Supplement)This is an exciting time to be joining Havering''s Assessment and Placement Team, whose role within the wider SEND Service is to manage the statutory processes relating to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The team has grown significantly, with a varied range of new roles created which contribute to a strong sense of belonging within the team, support and development for all team members, and many opportunities for career progression.Responsibilities

One of four AandP Team Lead roles reporting to the Deputy Team Manager. Deputise in decision-making matters, performance management and other duties as required.Work closely with families and service providers and act as an expert operational lead within the Education, Health and Care assessment and ongoing processes of a live Plan, in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015), The Children and Families Act (2014) and other relevant legislation.Typically manage complex cases jointly with Case Officers, and undertake project work as required by the Deputy Team Manager. May occasionally hold a small complex caseload.Develop processes, policies and use of systems to deliver a seamless service, meet statutory deadlines, maintain financial awareness and ensure high-quality communication with all stakeholders.Line management for up to six Case Officers, with specific responsibility areas (e.g., vulnerable groups, Phased Transfer). If the line management load is higher, adjust project work accordingly.Collaborate with parents/carers, schools and settings, and professionals across education, health and social care to promote positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.Qualifications and experience

Strong experience as an SEND Case Officer or in a role requiring equivalent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.Passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people with a good knowledge of the education system.Strong written and oral communication skills and high level of organisation.Further information about the knowledge, experience and skills required can be found in the Job Profile, along with the key duties and responsibilities of AandP Team Leads.What we offer
