Plater - Fabrictor

This role is crucial in the maintenance and refit of serving naval vessels, including QEC and Type 45 Destroyers. You will be part of a team responsible for the structural maintenance and repairs of the British Naval Fleet.Key Responsibilities:Demonstrate trade competency, achieving at least 60% skill level against MS_ Constructive competenciesConduct trade-specific point of work risk assessments before each task, as directed by the Team LeaderAdhere to all Risk Assessments, BAE policies, and legal requirementsEnsure all tools and equipment are suitable, fit for purpose, and have up-to-date inspectionsParticipate in training courses, Tool Box Talks, and briefings whenever possibleDevelop and maintain positive customer relationships, managing their expectations and needs, while mentoring allocated apprenticesReport all accidents, incidents and near misses using the appropriate reporting toolJob Requirements:Completion of an appropriate trade apprenticeship or naval equivalent qualifications, or relevant NVQ in TradeExperience in fabricationCompetency in using a wide range of hand tools and equipmentRelevant industry experience in Marine, Oil and Gas, Heavy Construction, or Rolling StockAbility to work at heights and in confined spacesBenefits:Competitive salaryFlexible working hours, including the possibility of accruing hours and flexible start/finish timesOpportunities for career development and trainingWorking as part of a recognised defence organisation on prestigious ..... full job details .....
