(CR) Relief Care Assistant - Aaron House at Presbyterian Church in IrelandSalary: £12.55 per hour. Hours: As and when required. Responsible to: Service Manager.This role is with the Council for Social Witness (Disability Services) and is based at Aaron House, a Residential Care Home for 16 individuals with profound learning disabilities, attached to a Day Care Facility for up to 9 individuals. Aaron House operates a No Smoking Policy. The Council for Social Witness is part of the work and witness of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and aims to provide care in a Christian ethos and environment, offering spiritual support alongside physical care.What You Will Be Doing
Providing compassionate care to residents, ensuring dignity and respect at all timesAssisting residents with dressing, personal hygiene, mobility, and daily activitiesEncouraging independence while offering support where neededAdministering medication (after appropriate training)Supporting residents with social and recreational activitiesHelping residents exercise their rights and make choices about their daily livesAccompanying residents on trips, appointments, and outingsMaintaining accurate records (both written and computerised)Following safety procedures and NISCC Code of Practice standardsAttending training and staff meetings to develop your skillsBeing a team player, working alongside staff to provide the best possible careWhat We Are Looking For

Willing to undertake relevant training e.g. induction training, or NVQ / QCF level 2Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English to level required by the duties of the postBasic numeracy required by the duties of the post (as endorsed by appropriate qualification or use of numeracy skills in a work or home environment)Willing to work additional hours to fulfil the requirements of the HomeMust be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in IrelandWilling to maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care CouncilAwareness of health and safety practices within a working environmentEvidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of people with learning and physical disabilitiesDesirable Criteria
